It's all for OUR dogs...
Day 76 - 95 of 365
Here's how the story begins: (start here if you are new)
River's wags of wisdom for today: "When your mom is working non-stop, find your patience-o-meter."
The new job is going like hotcakes. I'm busier than a one-armed midget stacking cans of corn on the top shelf.
But, we're back momentarily. River says she's very good and is taking pain meds twice a day. Her last chemo treatment will be on April 21st and we're hoping that it will buy her more time with us.
I miss her when I'm out and about. I do swing by between appointments and let her out and give her and the cat a treat. Yesterday, we lumbered around the block. But, what I wanted to share with everyone today is that our blogs might be varied because of the new work schedule. I will try and get to it on the weekends and some days in between. I was nearly 14 months without a paycheck, so I'm trying to catch up.
I truly miss writing here each day. This blog has certainly given me a sense of purpose to tell River's story and I still want to get her book to the big screen someday. It may take six months or six years...it really does not matter. It's all for you and your dogs who have been touched by canine cancer.
She's lying next to me as I write this and if I could speak for her, I think she would say to never give up - even when your job or your life gets in the way. She speaks the language I wish humans could speak. We still want your photos and your stories...send them to me.
For today, love yourself and your pets. Whisper softly in their ears that they are magic and that you love them. See how they respond and then sniff all over them. They'll really get a kick out of that!
